Note: This wiki applies to Control 6.0 and later.
Objective
Occasionally it's necessary to re-start all Control related software. It's best and easiest to simply re-start the server on which Control is installed. However, during business hours this may not be desireable if users need access to files on the server while Control is being re-started. Below is the manual process that should be used when re-starting Control manually. Also, if Control does not start properly after a server reboot.
Steps to Restart Control Software
- Have all users exit control.
- On the server, right click the SSLIP icon in the System Tray (next to the time) and select Shut Down.
- Click the Windows Start menu and type Services. Click the Services icon to start it.
- Right click on each of the following services and choose Stop.
- CDAS
- CHAPI
- HomeGate
- Right click SQL (Cyrious) service and choose Restart.
- Start the services above in the following order:
- CHAPI
- CDAS
- HomeGate
- Double click the SSLIP icon.
- Log into the Control once the SSLIP has started.
